Power shelves demand high density and fast replacement. A busbar must stay low resistance without blocking a fan path or transferring insertion force into a PCB. Power, thermal and mechanical tolerances belong in one interface definition.
Place bars with the shelf airflow
Keep bars and copper blocks away from fan inlets and critical heat-sink channels, or use a vertical path to a base plate. Match path length and contact pressure across parallel modules so rise and sharing do not depend on rack position.
Set the blind-mate mechanical and electrical window
Define guides, float, wipe, normal force and cycle life. SMT terminals also need coplanarity, land support and post-reflow distortion checks so module insertion force does not reach the PCB lands.
- Record module position, load and airflow
- Thermally inspect terminals, corners and heat-sink boundaries
- Recheck resistance, temperature and alignment after cycles
RFQ data for AI-server power shelves
Provide voltage, current, overload duration, airflow, altitude, insertion cycles, isolation, material and packaging orientation. A single generic bar cannot cover every rack position because the airflow and service boundary change the thermal condition.
